I agree - the main thing that really annoyed me about the JJ Star Trek film was the interior design of the Enterprise and the engine room which was so large and had so many pipes that I doubt it would even fit in the Tardis.

Ya, they do sadly have to cater to the mainstream masses, and now all people want are epic battles and huge explosions, which are nice, but I do miss old Star Trek. Personally, im just glad Star Trek is sill alive and kicking, so it might not be what im used to, but im still going to enjoy the new game and movie.

Well there are still some well written TV shows out there. It just seems that no studio has the courage to try that in a Sci Fi show atm.
i guess the studios think their audience is dumber than they really are. there are a lot of people out there that like a good show, movie or game with intelligent content and well written story and characters. it just really has to be good. and ya i guess it takes more effort to produce such a thing - so why bother (sadly).
